Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ28

9 years 5 months ago #2707 by Natalie
When I take the photos on my lumix DMC FZ28 the photos look good on the screen. But when I print the photos on my Epson Stylus the photos come out grainy and dark. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have an older minolta and I took a few pictures on it and printed those, the pics from the minolta look fine. Any help would be great, thanks.

I found that my photos benefit hugely from a little post-processing. Be sure to pull the photos into some sort of editing program to check brightness, saturation, sharpness, etc., it'll really make a huge difference. As far as "graininess", I found the FZ28 to be pretty noisy above ISO 200 or so -- that may be what you're seeing. Check your ISO on some photos and see if you're still seeing the same graininess on photos shot at ISO 100 vs. some shot at higher ISO. Post-processing can help with camera noise to some extent, but typically at the expense of detail in your photos.

Also check your image "quality" setting to make sure you are not using a high compression jpeg.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
