Flat lens for Lumix G1

1 year 2 months ago #664401 by EEHoliday
I have the 7Artisans 25 mm F1.8 manual lens that fits nicely into place on my old G1 but the camera says that the lens is not attached correctly. The Amazon description claims that the lens is compatible with the G1.

Other lenses are fine on this camera. There is not an issue there.

What is the most likely issue? 7Artisans? Is it worth trying another manufacturer? I see a Meike F1.7 which is also listed as compatible with the G1. Is it worth a shot or is the camera just too old?

The problem will almost assuredly be with the lens. If they can't help you get it working, return it.

G'day mate

Also - pop into the Custom Setup Menu and turn 'on' the option for shutter to operate with no lens attached. It's my underatcnding that this setting was inserted for manual lenses from other sources

Hope this helps

Oh, very good. Not having had run into an uncooperative lens, I didn't think about that.
