Katie's Senior Photos

Just a few of the photos I took. She lives in a fairly small town in Ohio, and wanted something different from what her friends are all getting. We ended up at the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor.

Nice shoot Lori, on the first one a reflector or a touch of fill in flash would have lost those shadows on her face, but its still a very nice senior portrait, love the post processing on the 2nd one and the background is great, the 3rd one like the framing idea just dont like that pose, would be tempted to crop that above the knee.

I agree with David on the first one and the last one but...

Not me, looks cheap and cartoony, also it makes the lines on her face stand out like crazy. Not something you want on a portrait of a woman/girl.

P.S. the first one looks like it was shot during the middle of the day. Terrible time for lighting.

Great ideas but as was said need a reflector on the first one. the third one would be better with her sitting with crossed legs

Thanks for the input, guys.

I agree, I needed a reflector or an off-camera flash (which I don't have... yet). Unfortunately, they wanted me to take the photos smack in the middle of the day, which set it up for the worst possible lighting.

The post-processing on the second photo was done to resemble something from the 1980s, as she is a fan of things from that era. Kind of looks like something from a Cars or A-ha video.

As for the third...

Thanks! :)

The 80's sucked for fashion.

I like the crop.

I like the first & the cropped version of the third. I agree with needing a fill on the face for #1. I don't mind the posterizing of the 2nd, however I do not like the positioning of the feet. I would consider cropping it at the knees as well.

The cropped photo is much better now - I like it as well as the 1st photo. Good work.
