Amazing Light this evening
What amazing light this evening. I had planned to do a headshot of my wife this evening, but got caught up in some yard work. When time came for the head shot, I glanced over at the light falling on my son's face, then suggested that we do them outdoors. They both thought I meant in a natural setting. Not hardly. My son held the backdrop from a small latter and my wife was seated in a posing stool in my driveway. The light was late evening sun diffused through the trees. No fill lights, no reflectors and just about 3 yards away from my studio. I angled her face to the sun to get classic short loop. Had I had a little more time, I would have employed a reflector, not as a fill, but as a main and used the natural light as a hair light. This was sorta fun. I might have to do this again and actually put a little more effort into it.
In life there have always been those who make fire; but most just sit around the fire and enjoy the warmth. A great mind absent of action is waste.
