New lens, new avenue - critiques please

I was asked to take photos of a vow renewal ceremony as a favor recently, as it is not my forte. I used my new Canon 85mm f/1.2 and was very happy with its performance. But I would love to get your opinion, as I do not thrive on taking photos of people. ALL comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks!

This photo was a surprise. The couple's two sons and their girlfriends were going to join in on the kiss-fest, when suddenly one boyfriend walked out of the shot. You see the jolted young girl's genuine reaction.

I rather like these. They capture some lovely moments, and do so well. My only tweak would be to back off on the vignetting on the 1st one, as the window (?) behind them does an excellent job of framing them. The heavy darkening is overkill, IMO.

Otherwise, I'd think they would be happy with the results. I would be.

Thanks for your feedback, Gary. I will dial the vignette back a bit.

Agreed.

The 85L is a hell of a lens. You really don't have to do that much to make it shine.

Good shots btw.

I'm actually going to disagree with the vignetting. I actually like how it is in the first image. These are some very nice shots! Really capture the moments and emotions! :)

I'm actually going to disagree with you. I actually don't like how it is in the first image.

Overall, I don't like the processing myself. I wouldn't do it that way you see.

That said, it's not bad processing at all. They actually look ok. I just wouldn't process that way myself.

Nice capture specially the second one. I think you should get the picture framed and send it to the family. They will really like it. :)

Nice work Melanie.
With a lens this fast, the temptation is to use it open more than it should be. Here you've demonstrated great handling and lensmanship with just the right DOF.
Well done!

IMO I would get rid of the vignetting. I just love pic number 2 it tells so much about it. Great capture.

Fabulous! Love the moments you've captured. The first is sweet, the second is fun, and that third picture is just powerful. What type of editing software are you using on these? Lightroom? The coloring of the third too. Awesome pics!

Thanks Brandy! Yes, most of the work I do is in LR. I also mess around with a little with actions in PS. :)
