Only saw the top of the first pic as my pad loaded it ...kept waiting for it to snap into focus when fully loaded. ...drolllol... had to (eventually) scroll down to see what was 'wrong'.

Excellent capture.

You're definitely not the first to be fooled by this composition...I've been using this as one of my signature shots at weddings for a while.  I started after I shot the one below back in 2011 and liked the unexpected effect and how it caught people by surprise.

The funny thing is, I decided to try that shot with a really cheap lens (Tamron 28-75 f/2.8) before switching to a better one and I actually liked the ones shot with the cheap lens more!  Best $220 I've spent on a second-hand lens.

I'm still trying to decided whether I like the first or second better.  But the first is something I do at weddings in general, the second is one I'm happier with because I took it in a location that didn't look great but still made an image I'm proud of.

The light in the second one is stunning and the image has a ton of depth! Really nice job!
