It is rare that an up the nose shot works. Unfortunately this one doesn't. If the eyes were in focus and the rest blurry, maybe, but not with the eyes out of focus.

I dont know anything about anything but I have to agree with the above post. If the focus was on the eyes and not the chin/nose, this shout would be perfect IMO.

Other than the focal point you did an awesome job with the rest of it!!

Wow that's an amazing shot! I think your focus is completely on the face and it came up really well  and the color tone is also simply awesome.

I personally don't mind up-nose shots. The real problem here is that the focus is on the lips, not the eyes. In general, for people and animals, you want the eyes (or the eye nearest the camera) in focus.

I'd also crop to allow a bit more above, and abit less below, or go square here since you have many curvy lines.

G'day Steve

Upon first glance, your portrait is a dramatic view of the face, but ... the first thing to grab me was the "larger-than-life" nose.

Others above have also commented similarly - so could I suggest you try it again - as it has the potential to become a dramatic image - but this time explore slightly differing camera angles to show the face differently.

It is always necessary to focus on the eyes if they are in the image unless you are concentrating on some other part of the face for a specific reason

Hope this helps
Phil
