How were you able to sneak in for this shot? Really good angle man! Well done!

I just slid my chair some inches to the right
and let the 200 ƒ2 do its thing! :P

Nice shot for a B&W. But I would love to have the focus in his eyes. I think the focus of the shot is in his hands?

I really don't know how to understand this part of your comment,
Carl!

Yes, the hands… purposely.

This shot was born at the same rehearsal than all the other 42 in
the set. It was meant to promote the state-wide school curriculum
in classical music and other sets were created for folklore, rock, pop,
as well… but not on the same day.

It was my idea to propose the hand on the instruments interface as
the main subject. The approach is meant to be inspirational and not
a documentation.

SECOND THOUGHT

The kids were scheduled for a rehearsal so the came dressed
with what ever… not like for a concert.

The scene looked like a all-dressed- pizza — read strange and
sometimes conflicting colours. As I repeat to my students:

— "If the present colours do not positively contribute to the
viewing pleasure of an image… get rid of them and go B&W.

I think with the goal that you have for the shot, it is well-achieved. The focus is I think just right.
