First time photographing a concert

1 year 5 months ago - 1 year 5 months ago #745498 by Esseff
On Sunday I did my first ever concert photography. I was not the main photographer as I typically do landscape and nature photography so I went along purely to get the experience. I'll attach the photos below and would love some (constructive) critique.

ISO was mostly around the 12000 mark. Shutters speeds were 1/400-1/500. Looking at the photos I think that maybe I should've kept shutter speed at around 1/800-1/1000 as there is a lot of blur. And because of the high ISO I had to Topaz the hell out of everthing which added some artifacts. Live and learn, right?

I used my Canon 90D and Canon 17-55mm f/2.8

I've seen the pro photographer's photos and tbh they're not that much better. I don't think he had to deal with as much noise as I did but overall the difference isn't that great.

A great representation of professional concert photography. The captures are great. There is a saying that a meaningful photograph tells thousands of stories. I am not a pro photographer but honestly, I must admire the skill that you have shown through your Canon. Take a bow, Esseff.
