Well, I am stumped for ideas. Can someone please help? I am working on my final project in my documentary photography class and I can’t think of anything.

Not sure if this will help but looking at your photo there, have you considered the idea of tracking storm movements?

You could even try documenting someone's life through photos.

That's an interesting idea. I never thought of that. Thanks

you could look through your local paper for ideas on things that are happening in your area, and go and photograph them, maybe?

Photographic Creative Juices Running Low

There is really no reason for ones creative juices to run low when you own a camera.
There are many things you haven't taken a picture of in this world or your small part of the world.
Not everything you photograph will be a money maker or contest winner but that's not important yet.
What is important when you feel your creativity is running low, is to shoot, shoot and keep shooting anything and everything.
Big or small, colorful or not, from many angles, at different times of day.
Don't limit yourself.
The thing is you may find the needle int he hay stack, that nugget of gold in one or more of those photos.
We don't know what all of the photography judges are looking for, your most unlikely photo may win a contest.
Your most unlikely photo may sell well.
You may be pleasantly surprised.
Or, you may just work yourself out of a creativity low point.
That's great and that's the point of this project.
This works better with digital cameras because you can delete what you are not inspired by if you wish.
Never give in to creativity "slump" and purposely enjoy every picture you take while beating the "slump".
Enjoy!

Check out Special Olympics in your area. Such inspiring stories, and the kids and volunteers are great.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
