3 MOONS (A TEST FOR YOU)

12 years 3 months ago - 12 years 3 months ago #189503 by Stealthy Ninja
Here's a shot my friend and I took. The settings are very similar but the cameras and lens slightly differ.

Here's what we used (in no particular order):
Canon 1DsIII + Canon 28-300mm lens
Nikon D7000 + Nikon 28-300mm lens
Nikon D3s + Nikon 28-300 lens

The D7000 and 1DsIII shots were binned down to 12MP (less of a difference than you'd think) and the Same sharpening and NR was added to each shot. The levels were adjusted slightly so the exposure sorta matches.

So here's the test.

WHICH ONE IS WHICH CAMERA?
WHICH ONE LOOKS SHARPEST/BEST?

Which one you think is best?

(I know they're close, but this is a test).

I'm guessing D3s, D7000, then 1ds Mark III.

First one looks the best far away. If you pixel peep it's very close between 1 and 3.

3 has a slight edge zoomed in, but has luminance noise.

A looks the best (without pixel peeping), though B is nearly as good. Sad C is really hurting for contrast. As this is not a color subject, I've got no clue at all on the cameras.

Photo A has the best contrast and definition for me. B is second followed closely by C. All three are > 95% equal.
