I need to create some portraits with extra cheese!

Two friends of mine want me to take their portraits. Sounds normal, except they want to do it in the style of cheesy, awful 80's family portraits. I am happy to accept the challenge, but I'd like to see what you guys could suggest for lighting/prop details.

Most of it's gonna be in the hair and outfits, but I don't have much to offer past that, good luck!

Didn't the 80s have some crazy lite backgrounds. The backgrounds weren't really lite, but they had bright neon lines, that look like lights.

You could take the portraits in front of a white backdrop and insert a digital 80s background. So in theory you could create or download that kind of 80s neon lights background and place it behind your subjects to get the look you want.

Spend a few minutes browsing at your nearest thrift/secondhand store. Might find some great costume or prop stuff there ;)
