Does anyone know the copyright laws for canada? is it difference from province to province?..Does a photographer retain ALL rights to the photos when they have done the shoot and has a few of the photos posted on different sites for display not for sale, months down the road the customer has now asked them to be removed, does the photographer HAVE to remove them?
Thanks any info would be awesome!

Don't think that is an issue of copyright, copyright is to protect you from people using your pictures with out your permission. If the pictures show the face of your client than you need their permission to display it. I always ask before posting any pictures,

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Read this carefully

especially about the customer. Depending on the usage, a model release could be required..

Another definitive site is
www.capic.org/resources.html?screen=bp&t...hapter=What+You+Sell

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I had full permission to post the photos for display after I edited them and gave them a copy etc. Now 9 months later she says I don't have permission...just wondering if legally I have to remove them or not. And am wondering if this has happened to anyone else and how they handled it.
Thanks for all the input though!!

If you have full permission, written permission, then you have all rights to display those photos. Doesn't matter if it's 1 week, 9 months or 10yrs after the photo session. The client gave permission and it's your right to post the photos. You have the legal right to display the photos.
