a memory card? I had no idea that cards can range up to $550+!! You could about buy a whole camera for that amount of money! I thought spending $40 for a card was expensive.

Back when the first entry level DSRLs were released, around 2003 i believe, memory cards were very expensive, you would pay hundreds of dollars per GB. The most I ever paid was $200...way back then.

Ya back in 2003-2004 I think I paid about 220$ for a 1 or 2 GB sd card.

Even in 2002 I recall paying like 400$ for a 40GB computer HDD - So ya... prices have certainly dropped. I dont think I would ever pay that much again though. 32GB cards are cheap now, and i never fill them up in one sitting. theres no need for me to go out and buy a 1TB SDXC card or whatever for hundreds of dollars haha

The most I've paid is about eighty bucks or so each, for a couple twelve GB CF cards a couple years ago. I only buy cards on sale and/or under rebate....:)

Why so serious?
