Combining Fields of Interest

Would I be foolish to spend my time taking photography in conjunction with another career. Such as becoming an astronomer and taking photos of the Universe? Or has anyone ever heard of an attorney that specializes in legal photography? I really enjoy photography but I want to do something unusual with it.

Any thoughts?

I think those are great ideas. Just don't spread yourself too thin. I know a guy who used to work for NASA as a photographer. You should see some of his photos!

By the way, look up a guy on this site called YOSHI. I saw a post from him a day or so back that is similar to this one. I think he wants to combine engineering and photography, so something like that. You two should get together.

How about Forensic photography? Or join the police department and try to become a crime photographer. There are so many opportunities out there for a photographer - in today's world it's no longer just about pretty pictures of babies, old people and weddings.

Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can find Yoshi. Sounds like we might have some things in common.

Dude, I really like the idea of becoming a police photographer. I can just see me now. Gun in one holster - camera in the other.

IMO, if there is a career you want..then do it. There is nothing wrong with taking pictures on the side. Alot of photographers need a full time job because taking pictures don't bring in alot of money.
