A gouge is like a memory...you shouldn't erase it! ( I have a couple on one of my lens hoods, which remind me of the time I had my lens fed between two strands of barbed wire to get a shot...a couple steers that were in the pasture kept trying to lick my lens, and I had to shoo them away every few minutes. The gouges make me smile! )
