HDR photo comparison

Agree... let's all stay civilized here. LOL... HDR is always a topic that get's peoples emotions all worked up. Some people like it, some dont. It's a form of photography that can easily be abused and over done. Personally I like HDR, my work isn't all that, but I have fun at it and enjoy the results. Well most of the time! I have some HDR shots that are absolutely horrible. But that's part of the fun and process of learning this style. When you're just getting started in HDR, you need rhino skin at times. I know this from first hand experience! LOL

1hdr4u... first off, welcome to the site. I've seen your work and your on the right path. Just keep at it and know from time to time you will get criticism in different forms. Some people are more gingerly about expressing their opinions of HDR then others.

Much respect to you all!

Alex

Stealthy Ninja wrote: Well, I'm NOT a big fan of HDR myself. I don't want to be mean, but to me this shot is an example of why. It looks quite unrealistic to my eyes, especially after seeing what it really looks like. The Piano is yellow and has weird texture that's not there in real life and there seems to be a weird glow around everything. To top it off the area around the window is still blown out.

Agreed. I think HDR is only good if the photo it's used on is good.. if not, it's simply just someone who is proficient at software. In this case, I find the subject matter and composition to be quite dull (Sorry) so the HDR is really just a mask of that...
