Better than me trying to explain it, this video will show it. I had to make some modifications due to my camera's limitations, but his set-up is a good way to start.

I took last weekend off. I usually only do photo gigs on weekends since I have another full-time job. My just for fun shooting is during the week.

This weekend I'll be shooting a maternity session, so I'll have something to contribute to this thread next week. ;)

BTW, lots of nice shots here - thanks to everyone for sharing.

Isn't she though? She is a character and her mom and dad are very close friends of ours, I tried to tell them that portraits really aren't my thing but I am willing to practice. After seeing this shot, they asked for a portrait shoot in a couple weeks. They asked if it was ok to pay me, even though we're friends, lol.
