Perhaps the future will bring cameras capable of bringing some amazing IS capabilities, rendering tripods and monopods a 'non-necessity'. But one that will cover all the bases (i.e. long exposure) will not be here for decades, if that. And if it does, it will be cost prohibitive for most photgraphers. I'll bet a software comes out first, that will fit this bill better.
Not your fault, hard to tell at first if it's someone real or the trolls again. I used a report to moderators link but that just resulted in more comments from the trolls.
Thanks John for trying to get things back on track. I haven't used a tripod but it depends on what type photos you're taking, certainly photographers have long used them for photographing landscapes, wildlife, and other reasons mentioned.

That's because film photographers aren't usually that good.
Now what you are doing is called trolling. I am sure you and your "special friends" are having a great time slapping those who disagree with you - or are are you one of your "special friends". You seem to lack basic photography knowledge. SHow us a few out your photos so we can determine how your theory works out.
I do suggest you try to shoot with something more than a 200mm lens and not use a tri- or mono-pod.
