Yeah. There's only so much that can be done with the leaf without blowing it out, unfortunately. I'm wondering if the best treatment isn't in color, but desaturating the green in the water to de-murkify it. More contrast overall and luminence in the colors. That could make the green and orange pop even more:

... yeh, your edit seems to work well. I think the green on the leaf is still a bit to neon (a common Nikon problem). It could be toned down a bit in LR or PS.
