Buying from an overseas eBay seller

I'm bidding on a lens and just noticed the ebay seller is out of London. Other than the obvious of being out of country, are there any differences of lenses sold from Europe to USA? I know about grey market, but in this case, it's used so any warranty wouldn't be issue any way.

That is correct. Now I don't use ebay that often, their rates are just to high. With that said, ebay does have a good buyer protection plan, but still make sure the seller has good reputation and selling history before buying anything.

Make sure shipping is stated or quoted. Myself, I'm done with ebay. Uplander is correct about the buyer protection, at the total cost to the seller. Too much scamming due to their latest policy changes for me.....

Why so serious?

Lenses sold across borders will be the same

International shipping can be horribly slow, which is a terrible mess for the seller, having buyers rip off the item, rip off a refund and leave negative feedback.

Which can easily wreck a sellers dsr rating, get them (and their household) kicked off ebay permanently. That's just how bad ebay is these days, never mind crooked feedback ratings, high fees, lowball sellers, high levels of fraud and counterfeit sellers.

Good luck, hope it turns out ok.

I'd sooner use ebid, bonanza, webstore, straightforward no fuss listing websites, which are what ebay used to be like before it became a hostile environment to sellers. Those dsr ratings are just a naaaaasty way to churn and burn small sellers

High feedback ratings on ebay are false and misleading as big sellers get the option of canceling negs, small sellers don't, sellers can use multiple identities, folk with negs are probably targets of dishonest and malicious feedback. Utterly arbitrary, ebay feedback ratings.

Amazon is woooonderful, btw
