Technically it's not in my camera bag, but in my phone as an app, it's a winner!

:agree:  IMO the single best app for photographers

I carry and like to use an 18% gray card, but probably the best tool I carry would be a Sekonic L-308s lightmeter so I can meter incident light, and reflected light as well as meter my flash when I use it.

It depends. Years ago when I shot slide film, exposure was critical. Then it was my grey card.
At some stage it was clothing pegs.
Later it was pen and paper. My phone took over that duty.
Now it is my flash.

I have so many wonderful things in my bag, but It does depend on what I am doing.  I am really glad I have an extra battery though.

For white balance, a friend told me that the lid from a Duncan Donuts coffee is spot on. Place the lid over your lens, fire and set. Might be fun to try.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Have been using the desktop version for years and it is amazing fro setting up shots especially near dawn or sunset (or moon shots).

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
