$7500 to spend: Vacation or give it to B&H for new camera gear?

8 years 9 months ago #447235 by Overread
An old investment just paid up last week and the check arrived today.     So, which path would you go down?  Blow the $7500 with B&H or Adorama on new camera gear.

OR...

Go on a vacation somewhere?

I decided to get some outside opinions on this.  I'm seriously on the fence.

It all depends on the gear you have, the gear you need against the gear you would just like to have.
Any urgent upgrades needed?

Invest in experiences, not equipment.

I got that from an article I read recently. Seriously: Take the time to go do something special.

All travel plans are already made for this upcoming year.  So for me, I'd go with a nice 300mm f/2.8 lens.

I could blow another $2k on gear, but not as much as $7.5k!  So I would be looking up photosafari guides for my favorite beach resorts.

If I had that to "blow" I'd be booking my flights to the UK/Norway/Iceland or New Zealand right now.....

Why so serious?

Well for me, I'd go with a new camera body and killer telephoto lens.
