What's a fair rate to pay an apprentice photographer with 2 years experience for wedding work? On the fence and need some help here.

What are your concerns? What does the apprentice expect? Without a little background info you'll just get more stabs in the dark.....

Why so serious?

$25-$50 per hour.  Depends on their experience.  Seeing that most will not have much experience, the value they are getting is experience from you.

:agree:  That sounds about right, assuming they know how to use a camera. And that they're good at lugging equipment around.

If you're doing work as a photographer get information from professional photographers organizations like http://asmp.org or PPA or maybe NPPA (geared more to media). Or try looking up sites for pro wedding photographers.

$25?  to $50 an hour? That's sounds awful high to me. Your gonna pay someone that much money to learn from you how to do it in the first place? I would think $10 maybe $15 an hour should be more than enough. It's not like your getting skilled help. You think they are worth more you can easily give them more but if you start at $25 hr and find out their not worth it, it's hard to cut them back.

It depends upon their skill level and what kind of work they're going to be doing. If they are going to tote equipment, setup/teardown, etc, then less. If they're going to shoot and produce keepable images, then $25 - $50 is not unreasonable.
