20 megapixel vs 24 megapixel camera - Can you notice the difference?

If the same photo was taken with the 20mp camera, then with the 24mp camera.  Could you notice the difference with naked eye?

No. However, when it comes to processing a 24 compared to a 36 the difference in crop ability alone is quite noticeable. Not sure what you are trying to decide between, but MP is not the most important feature in a digital camera....

Why so serious?

Assuming the same size sensor, it's a 9.5% difference in pixel density along each access, and a 20% difference when you consider area.

Can you notice that? Maybe. On the screen, or printed? My guess is that, printed, probably not unless you greatly enlarge the image.

So the answer might be "it depends."

Not I, perhaps the difference between 20 and 36 megapixels would be noticed

I'm not so sure that I'd ever blow a photo up with from 16mp on up to need the extra pixel's. If you got a full frame photo from a 20mp camera, much less more and printed it with no crop I have to wonder just how big a photo could you print? When I only had my old D70, I got a photo of a buck near the house that I didn't crop. Gave it to a lab to print, only had an 8 1/2" printer in those day's. They printed it for me and told me I could have gone to 20x24 and still got a usable photo.
