To squeeze out more camera speed performance will you shoot in JPG vs RAW when shooting fast moving objects?

I always use jpeg. I absolutely suck at post prep anyway!

For most cameras (Nikon, at least) shooting JPG will not get you any more performance from the camera. That's because it still captures a raw image but then has to process it to product the final JPG. So, essentially, you're making your camera work harder by shooting JPG.

And even if you suck at post, you could use LR to do very, very basic, highly automated tweaks and probably end up with something you'll like better. Software is software; it only know what it's been taught to do. And that isn't always the right thing.

IMO

The only reason press photographers shoot jpg's at sport, is processing time. I still prefer RAW, specially if it is high contrast lighting conditions.

Only time my camera is in JPG, is when I give the camera to a family member during holidays.

Well, let me think about this.  97% of the time, it's all RAW for me.  I do shoot JPG every once in a while, manly just family events when I'll be sharing images with family.
