That's pretty funny. I wonder if they had any idea who the guy is?

I am more amused at the comments to the story. I still cannot believe that some saw him as being rude with the response. The ever well its on the internets therefore he is already sharing it for free logic was strong. No wonder it is getting harder to make a living from your work anymore. That is if you are in the business.

I think his response was great, and CBS displayed unmitigated gall to make the request in the first place. I'll bet it's not even tough to obtain direct contact information for the photographer. Which they apparently couldn't be bothered to do.

They guy wasn't rude, CBS was. Too bad people don't seem to understand how manners even work any more.

Yeah, good response.  I'm kind of on the fence with this one.

Nope, I'm with you.  He could have come across professional and still made his point.  And might have not sounded like an egotistical a-hole IMO.

Well, to some degree I don't blame him, however I do believe he could have approached it a bit milder.  He did come across a somewhat of an ass.  Just my 2 cents.

It is easy to say he is rude. We are not in his shoes. I remember in my days the arrogance of publications wanting for free. Sometimes one feels to scream at them that you do not take photographs for one's pleasure. "What does it take for them to get the message? Rudeness?"
