Keeping dry when you have to shoot in the rain?

7 years 11 months ago #479689 by Eric A
I had to shoot recently in the rain and it was such a PITA to hold an umbrella and shoot at the same time.  More awkward than anything.  I'm just curious what others are doing when the drops fall.  How are you keeping dry?

My Camera Bag:

Canon 7D | 50mm f/1.2 | 17-40mm f/4 | 70-200mm f/2.8 | 320EX | 580EXII

Ponchos and plastic bags. If it gets too much, inside I go.....

Why so serious?

Do you keep either of these in your camera bag at all times?  I think that's what I'm going to do moving forward.  Find the smallest one and stuff it somewhere in my camera bag for emergency.

Yes, I carry a poncho and always have a couple trash bags, (16 gal and 33 gal) stuffed in the bag. They weigh nothing....

Rain?
You did not see it coming?
You do not have the weather report on your phone?

Joking.
Effron does not have a choice.
He sees more rain than sunshine while I see more chicken with teeth than rain.

+1 on the ponchos and trash bags. Lightweight. Functional. Some might say fashionable as well!
