Guarantee how many pictures will you deliver to the client?

Clients keep asking me how many photos will I give them for the shoot.  Have any of you put into your contract a set number of photos to deliver based on the number of hours on the job?

Like you will give 40-50 photos per covered hour?

Make a guarantee on images?  Seems like that could get out of control.

I give clients an estimated number of images, but it's based on the package the client chooses, not necessarily on the hour. There's just too much that can go wrong in my life for me to guarantee a certain number of photos in 60 minutes. The client might be late, I might have a problem with a camera, lens, computer, light, etc. It's okay to give a range, just make it wide enough to cover yourself in case time gets away from you.

+1 on the estimate.  More like a typical range.  I never lock myself down to any number.  You just never know.

I don't guarantee anything other than I'll do my very best.

There are no guarantees in life...and none regarding the number of photos either :)

I give the client how ever many photos my camera takes, never make any guarantees.

Good example of it doesn't hurt to ask.   I'll be doing what I have been and just giving them an estimate range, but not lock myself down.  Thanks for the 411

Where are the days of film, when 35 8x10" enlargements were enough for a wedding? Reprints were only made from that 35 prints.
