Time lapse shot from a drone or boat?

7 years 11 months ago #480305 by Sawyer
I want to make a time lapse of going down Colorado River and wondering how I can pull this off.  If setting up camera on the boat, is there a gimble or something that keeps the camera somewhat still, while the boat is rocking around?

Or if I go air, what drone will hold a DSLR with something like a 35mm on it?  I want a wide view so will have either a 24mm or 35mm on the camera.

What thoughts do you have on this?

I would guess that the drone would be your best bet.  Many of those drones are 4k cameras.

If you go drone, you're going to need a really high budget.

How so?  You can get a decent drone these days with great 4k camera between $1000 and $2000

Like Scotty said. Big bucks. Drones are more limited than people think and 1,000 to 2,000 is like a cheap point and shoot in camera lingo.

Still not a DSLR, it's a Pansonic GH4 or Sony A7, close but don't think this is set up to carry full blown DSLR
