A curious example...I made two nonsensical posts in the Canon forum a few days ago, and I've got a "Canon Guru" badge.
If you continue, there should be a "most useless posts" badge as well, for which I should be in the running for.....
Why so serious?
For some reason it reminds me of the habit they used to have in the communist block: Medals, medals, medals........

"Perfect attendance"; Suppose I can not, for some reason, log in for a couple of days - then I suppose the badge will be gone....
Badges that give hints on activity level in certain areas could be very useful......
