Real Estate photographers and HDR?

7 years 7 months ago #493838 by Joe Peterson
My wife and I are on the housing market for the first time in 20 or so years.  The whole process has changed a little.  One thing I've noticed is it looks like who ever is taking the photos for many of the homes we are looking at, are processing the photos with an HDR process.

Some look great and have just that right amount of HDR blend to them.  While others are just horrible and over done!  It's really distracting for me.  Don't these photographers know any better?

Geeez, we all know what HDR is.  When used in Real Estate like this, IMO it's kind of switch and bait.  You see vibrant (yes overcooked) colors in the images, when you get there, it's all flat and blah.

Just my 2 cents.

I think it's a matter of preference or not knowing any better.

I don't care for these sort of results.

I think Overread hit it on the head - a lot of them just don't know any better.
