Well first for sure it MUST be wind free. No, but not at all waves. Water must be like a mirror. Wenn you set your camera you must release it with remote trigger and DONT MOVE.. :)

+1 still that is going to be tough.  On a boat, any slight movement from you or anyone else on it.  Will cause the boat to move.  Can you shoot from the shore?

I would really suggest trying to get set up on the shore.  You might try using a floating tiffen steadicam.

Steadycam won't work for that.  You'll need to be on the shore.

long exposure and on a boat?  Man, I honestly don't see that working.  A slight move from the wind could cause the boat to move, which would mess up the shot.

I've tried, even on in the morning when the water is like glass.  Nearly impossible.  Try shooting from the shore as already mentioned.

I think there's too many moving parts in the equation to get a truly successful picture...seems like more effort than it's worth.

On the other hand: If you include parts of the boat in your pictures that could give an interesting look; The boat sharp, everything else blurred.
Or: You place that boat on frozen water...... :woohoo:
