Like a lot of new ideas, it's a fad that likely won't last.At least not with exacting photographers, just amatuers.

I disagree.  Polaroid's weren't exactly a fad.  Look, it's 40 years later and still people are buying them.  Not just the old folks, young people too.

Might stick, depends on the price point.  IMO.

You can disagree, but the vast majority of users were just casual users (I had several Polaroids when I started out). Other than them, the only pro use of them (just the film, not the camera) was with medium format users who would use Polaroid backs to check their exposure & compositions before reshooting the scene with regular film. They were not the highest quality out there. I had any number of Polaroid cameras, from B&W models where you had to coat the image after it developed to color cameras. But, as I said, they were just snapshot type cameras for instant gratification. With digital cameras (especially those in phones) this will remain a limited market.

Yeah, they'll be around for a long time.  But it's a very small part of the community IMO.

I still have my first Polaroid, it doesn't get used much.  But I still have it.

I do think that the Polaroid is beyond a fad for sure, and I think that its survival over all these years speaks to that. Looks like a neat little camera! I'd consider it if film wasn't so expensive...

The Polaroid name has been sold repeatedly, just like the Vivitar name. It's not the same company that made instant cameras all so many years ago.

So true, the 'Polaroid' that we knew growing up, is long time gone.

Seems to have caught a little traction here.  So perhaps not dead.
