Setting up a photography workshop

I'm thinking about setting up a photography workshop here.   I'll be inviting few of the greats to teach at the event.  I'm just trying to figure out what would be the sweet spot for number of attendee's and cost.

I'm thinking a 3 day event.  How many students to instructors would you say would be a great ratio?

I've seem some instructors limit to six, and some at twelve. It all depends on your target attendees, the more experienced they are, the less individual time and repetition will be required....

Why so serious?

I've been to workshops of all sizes, a small class to a large auditorium (not all photography related).

You probably need to develop a plan - will the so called greats be interested?? what are their fees? how many sessions for three days/how many presenters? where would this be held? how much would venue rental cost? how much would it cost to provide coffee/snacks? will you make arrangements for box lunches or catering or would there be restaurants nearby/within walking distance for attendees to make their own lunch arrangements? will you need insurance coverage? programs/flyers? what's involved in booking a venue for three days - does the venue require a deposit?

That's just what came to mind in a couple of minutes, so look at how other workshops are set up and figure out every detail that would be involved in this. Then how much you'd need to charge to cover expenses and make money. It probably needs to be within the price range of similar workshops.
