Good tip on what not to do when bracketing photos

7 years 4 months ago #507911 by Fitch
Saturday I took a personal day with myself and camera.  I was experimenting with bracketing shots with 6 different exposures.  I had a fun and productively relaxing day with my camera.

Sunday I had a quick job in the morning with an engagement session.  2 hour shoot had been scheduled with me.  It was bright an early and I couldn't get but every few of my photos exposed correctly.

About 30 minutes into the shoot, the light bulb went off.  I hadn't removed the bracketing from the day before!

So another example to think about what you did the day before and make sure all your camera settings are back to where they need to be.

Yup; I have a kind of a "standard" setting; no matter what I've been doing - when I finish the camera is put back to "standard" before being turned off!

After doing that a couple times myself, I set up a go back to 'start' setting myself too.  That has (knock on wood) prevented this from happening again.

I'll usually pull a move like that with ISO settings.  However have done it with with bracketing turned on.  Matter of fact, the first time that happened, I didn't realize till after the shoot!

Oh yes, the 'whoops I done it again', leave the camera in some sort of crazy setting from the previous shoot!

I think we all can be honest and say that we've all at one point done something the same or similar.

Ooooh - YES, we have all been there.
I was there a couple of times before I started putting my camera back to "Standard" settings before turning it off......

At least you caught the issue before getting home and finding out all images are toast.
