How far would you go here?

7 years 3 months ago #510614 by Kay Baker
I found a old house that has been abandoned for years.  There are no trespassing signs on all sides of the house.  Even the signs look very aged.  I want to go in and take some photos, I'm confident there are going to be some good shots here.

I have looked into some of the windows and there is so much character in this place.

As my title ask, how far would you go here?

It is clearly posted so I would not go in on this one. Now there are certain ones that I have ignored in my past, but they were not houses, they were old commercial, and government buildings. Oh and to Fatherland Security/NSA I am kidding about government properties.
In reality you have to assess it for yourself. Is this in a busy area? Are there occupied dwellings near by? And how willing are you to risk possible jail for some  maybe great photos?

Joves hits all the salient points, but YOU have to access risk vs reward. I've been known to push a sign out of the way, I don't recommend it. You sure don't want to encounter a group of homeless cretins alone with only your camera as a weapon.....

Why so serious?

Being a woman, I would pass on this one, from a safety standpoint.  You just don't know what you will encounter in there.

I wouldn't go unless someone else with you

I mean, I wouldn't recommend it by any means...but it's a matter of weighing risk vs.reward like effron mentioned. Stay safe and best of luck with however you decide to handle this predicament.

Eh, if there's no trespassing signs posted around, I can't say that I'd risk it...there's plenty of places out there to get a great shot.

Knowing me, I'd most likely go in

I'd have to see the place and surroundings.  I've been known to sneak into places quick, but the conditions need to be perfect.

I have, and probably would too, but the OP is a female.....I'd say don't, especially alone....

Exactly!
I may, or may not have gone into a place or two with signs posted.

Most times I would go in for few quick shots if the place looked safe.

Being the OP, I wouldn't go it.  As for myself, being honest, I would most likely jump in quickly for a few shots and be gone after.
