GearEye gear management system?

What's the range of these?  Meaning if you leave a lens for example on a job site.  Will it show on a map where it was left at?

Better yet, if you get robbed.  Can you track the location of the gear before the criminal get's smart and removes these stickers?

Honestly this is the first time I'm seeing this company.  Looks cool, as a theft prevention, you would need to hide it on the camera or lens.  Most like would need to disguise the sticker.

What powers the electronics in the tap you leave on the gear?

Interesting.  If self contained power source, how often do you need to replace is what I would be interested in knowing.

Nice idea, however I don't see how this would be reliable with no long term power.

Someone post the range if you happen to know it.  Seems like a good concept if the range is decent.

I don't understand how the power of these strips last as long as they claim.  Plus the range.

Nikon Z6 | Nikon FM10 | Nikon D80 | Nikon 50mm f/1.8D | Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR | 35-105mm f/3.5 Macro | 80-200mm f/4.5 | SB600 | Pocket Wizard II

Their inexpensive, so you just swap them out.  Assuming you can know ahead of time that signal is getting weak.

Short range only.  This would work great if you heading out the door and to make sure you are picking up all your gear at end of a job.

Canon EOS 7D SLR | XT W/18-55 Kit Lens | Canon 50mm 1.8 | Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 | Canon 28-105mm | Canon 75-300mm | Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro | Canon 100-400
