Advertising on your vehicle

7 years 1 month ago #517324 by Kristy Blake
I've been going back and forth with the idea of putting my photography business advertised on my car.  Have you tried?

1.  Did you get any business from doing so?
2.  Does your car payments become tax deductible then?

:thx2:

Never tried it.  I do believe your payments will be a tax write off if you use the car enough for your business.  I would check with your CPA

As has been said, consult a tax professional about tax matters. As for advertising on your car, I have a fellow photographer who did that but had it removed as it didn't bring in much new business.

One thing to consider is that it might make your vehicle a target of thieves since photographer = expensive gear. That is the reason I don't even have club decals on my cars.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Portion of your mileage and gas. You'll need to keep strict accounting of both when the car is used for business.  You really want to get more details from your tax person.

You can, but only for the distance between home and client, and as already pointed out.  You are supposed to keep a log of miles and receipts.
