BTW if you have 800+mm will you see solar flares in your photos if you had the right filter?

In my link the third image has what you will see at a given point that is outside of the prime area. For me it is an hour, or so drive to get to where it is a total eclipse.
To answer your second question, if you have the proper filter then you can get images of solar flares, but that is the case at anytime. The 800mm will give you some extra magnification, but a dedicated telescope is really what you want. Also those filter setups are not cheap.
