Preventing lens drifting

You ever be photographing something pointed up or towards the ground and your lens creeps out, slowing drifting forward or backwards.  What are you doing to stop it?

No lens I now own creeps, the only one that did was my old 18-200 zoom. I had to hold it to prevent the creep.....

While using a zoom lens, I would have thought the photographer would be holding the lens with one hand...if you're not doing this, you should...
