External lenses for iPhone that work?

6 years 1 month ago #563770 by I shoot RAW
My wife just picked up this one:  www.amazon.com/olloclip-iPhone-TELEPHOTO...words=olloclip&psc=1

Poor quality and if you have an existing case, you need to remove it order to get this on.  Don't get me started on the distortion you get with the wide angle.

Wasn't me :)

This thread has me thinking.  When you look at our DSLR's, we have tons of lens options.   I wonder if we would ever have more lens options for the cameras on our phones?

For me, wide and telezoom would be the most helpful.  Owned one fish eye (for my DSLR) before, never used it often.

My Camera Bag:

Canon 7D | 50mm f/1.2 | 17-40mm f/4 | 70-200mm f/2.8 | 320EX | 580EXII

Sorry, had to Google you guys.  I learned long ago, don't click on strange looking URL's.  This includes all those URL shorteners.  To many viruses could be hiding on the other side.  These days even on Facebook your account get's hijacked and before you know it, all your friends just got sent a link to click to a nasty virus.  Regardless, nice site.  I saved it.  You should post testimonials if you have some.

Wasn't me :)

Hey PT,

I'm coming onto my second week of using these SandMarc lenses on my iPhone X and will tell you, the build quality, case and optics are spot on.   The case is big selling point for me.  I've used a number of these sort of cases/lenses over years and the cases are always huge (like many of you pointed out).  This one is actually lower profile than the case I have from Apple.  I love it!  Now it does stick a little when you remove the case from your phone.  However I spoke with the people at SandMarc and they assured me new cases on the way!

BTW so far, I have used heavily their wide angle lens, and polarizer.  This week I've been playing more with their fish eye and macro.  Stay tuned for update!

Feel free to PM me directly if you have any questions about these lenses.  Happy to help!

Alex
