Aside from larger size needed, when are you sending vs printing?

I print all of my own unless I need larger than 19" x 13"......

Why so serious?

Same here. If it is just something to hang on my wall then I do it myself. If I was doing this for a sale then it is better to farm it out. I am still trying to justify owning something that will print larger than 19x13.

My photo quality inkjet printer died two + years ago and haven't missed it a bit.  Cheap prints can be had at Costco, pro lab isn't too far and size isn't a concern ( 9' print for a boardroom no problem)Granted I don’t make a lot of prints so it seemed ironic every-time I needed to make a print(s)  through cleaning etc  I would need to replace an ink well.  Then I would need to buy a box of paper that I would never finish - still have a collection of different sized papers including two rolls of paper in the attic.  Sometimes I think you could compare owning an inkjet print to owning a motor boat.  Just an object to throw money at every time you want to use it.Friends can’t ask “you’re good at Photoshop can you touch up my vacation pics and make some 8x10s for me”  (for free? ) would love too, oh don’t have a printer are you willing to pay for the lab costs?  No???:rolleyes  Now my table is open for use with only a small laser printer taking up a corner

If I'm selling to a client or exceeds the printing size of my printer, then I send out.

No response that is much different from what has been posted so far, it's all boils down to size for me.  Client or something that will go on my wall.  If it exceeds what my printer can do, I send it out.

My printer isn't all that great, so pretty much anything I want printed get's done at a print shop.

I've got a Canon Pro 100 and don't print past 13x19 here. Anything bigger is too much of a pain to try out on my own.

What is the largest home printer that isn't the size of a VW?
