What's your photography bad habit?

6 years 9 months ago #534356 by Stanly
I'm in the doctors office waiting to be seen, so going to post a question to have some fun.

Before I left the house today, my wife reminded me to throw out my old photography magazines.  My bad habit is that I hate to toss them.  I have stacks of magazines all over.  Would you toss a book away?  NO.  Magazines have some good stuff in them too.

What's your bad habit?

Nikon Z6 | Nikon FM10 | Nikon D80 | Nikon 50mm f/1.8D | Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR | 35-105mm f/3.5 Macro | 80-200mm f/4.5 | SB600 | Pocket Wizard II

Keeping everything I buy, no matter how useless. I'm better now, probably because I ran out of space to store it all.....:P

Why so serious?

Driving by a scene thinking that would be a cool shot and not stopping to actually make the image. Horrible habit.

I keep nearly all packaging.  So I have 4 boxes in my attic of just boxes gear originally came in.

I don't delete photos, any.  Including bad shots, out of focus, etc.

Maybe you meant "habits". I have MANY of those mentioned and probably a few more!

Setting enough time to get out has been mine lately.

Not planning for better shots.  I see people with amazing shots and I know they go there ahead of time, plan out how the light will fall, best vantage points and so forth.  I never get out and just plan for the shot.  So all my shots are impromptu.

I'm always behind the camera, and never in the shots.

I'm the same way, I don't throw away nothing photography gear related.  Always thinking I'll use it or might have a need for it in the future.

I have lots of trouble letting go of anything, including things that I haven't used in years...it wouldn't be so bad if I did a better job of keeping it all organized.
