What is your prefered way to light outdoor portrait?

When the light is harsh from the sun, or flat light, how are you lighting your portraits?  I'm curious as to what others are doing.

1. Speedlight with a softbox?
2. reflectors and diffusers w/ what light is naturally available
3.  You always find and use Natural light

I use all 3 methods you mentioned.  Depending on the situation and location.  I prefer to use as much natural light as possible.

Well I own speedlights and monolights, but prefer to find the light and use what is available.

Always try to use what light is available as first option.

If it's possible, I tend to use reflectors to bring out natural light more so than anything else. But I'll use any of those three options depending on the situation and what I have on hand.
