What was your reason for starting photography?

Because it was the popular thing?
Family member or friend got you into photography?
It was occupational.
Just something you gradually got into (aka starting out taking photos with cell phone).

I was gifted a camera as a lad and liked it. Had a high school friend that was working for a pro photographer, mostly weekend weddings, and summer youth camps and I got some work mostly for the latter. I was allowed use of his lab for film processing and printing and at the time that was fun.
That's how I got into it....

Why so serious?

I was given a camera when I was a young girl. Loved it, kept with it for a number of years.  Fell out of photography for a few years and picked it back up 11 years ago, and now how I make a decent part of my $$

I bought a camera from a garage sale for $1 and I've owned a camera ever since that day.

Well you got me thinking on this one.  Technically, my Aunt gave me my first camera when I was 8.  However I really got going with it nearly 15 years later when I bought my first "pro" camera.

My parents were always into photography, then I tried it out in high school.   Got serious about photography in college and kept with it ever since.
