I tend to agree with Johnalex,
also, discipline you need to know from apps or from experience of a local area where the sun is at a particular time of day, when it rises and sundown and knowing it changes position during the year. Be aware of important elements that make a landscape, foreground interest, mid tone and back grounds also layers of texture, cloud formation, leading lines etc etc - always the best way is to take a course in art, it´ll give you a painters eye view of a scene instead of just the technical stuff.
In the words of Henri Matisse - “Creativity takes courage” :-)

Well, Venice canal shots aren't really landscape... those are more urban or architecture. If you want to do landscapes, you study what has been done before. So all of the pointers above are now your homework. Then you get out and shoot, and hone your eye. And figure out how to make what you see something that others will find compelling to look at for more than 1.5 seconds on Instagram.

In short: lots of hard work.

Right tips Silver Fox. In my opinion, aerial photography is a right option to take landscape photography stand out. Because aerial photography captures good photographs. I have 5years experience in aerial photography at Singaporeaerialphotography.com. For landscape photography, I always use drones to take photos.
