Would any of you happen to know the time that it takes to convert 200ft of 8mm into digital with Moviemaker pro?

This is the one I'm talking about  www.amazon.com/Wolverine-Film2Digital-Mo...lution/dp/B077S17XGM

My husband was just converting reels last year.  I want to say he was getting a 50 ft done in about an hour.  You know what, don't quote me on that, he's not here right now and I'm going off him telling me then on how slow the process was.

Was it a movie maker pro he was using?

Not sure, again he isn't here right now.  It's a big machine he bought a couple years ago, that's all I can tell you about it.

Have you considered contacting the company and asking about metrics?

Also, instead of buying something like this for one reel, find a service that will do the conversion for you, at the quality you require. I'm sure there are some out there.

I bought one last year to convert a number of old family films  and you are going to typically burn 50 ft of film in 35-40 minutes.  You reminded me, I let my brother in law borrow it and he never returned it.  I still have more to burn!

Hey,

I did contact the company, started to speak with someone, they put me on hold and I could hear them talking to someone for nearly 2 minutes.  Then they hung up on me.

I'm not buying this for 1 reel.  As an added service for my clients, I've been already converting old 35mm film into digital files.  I've had clients asking me about who I recommended for converting 8mm old movies.  I was just doing my homework and starting to put together a price sheet.  I bought a 35mm film to digital converter made by the same company last year and happy with it.  Saw they make one for 8mm, so considering.  The part I didn't know, is time it takes to convert.

Thank you

I spoke to the founder of this company yesterday, who also happens to be the engineer who design this, he stated for every 50 feet of reel, you are looking at 30 minutes to convert to digital.

I'm sure the phone issue was an accident.  These guys get a ton of calls from people like yourself.  So, if you still have questions, I would call in again.

Sorry, was not able to respond earlier.  The unit scan at the speed of 2 frames per second because it scan the film frame-by-frame.  Therefore, a 50' reel will take about 30 min, 200' will take about 2 hours and 400' reel will take about 4 hours.

Ah. Very good. I love the idea of each frame being digitized.
