Best way to ship a camera and lens to Norway?

1 year 6 months ago #575158 by Craig Stone
Morning.  I sold an old camera and lens to someone up in Norway.   The funds have cleared last week in my PayPal, so now I feel comfortable in shipping the items to him.  I have both packaged up pretty good, however not sure on the best method of getting them there.  I've never shipped anything outside the country.

Any suggestions?

For Norway DHL will most likely be your cheapest bet.  DHL is Europes more common Fed Ex like shipper.

I would consider USPS. You are shipping international, including customs(!) clearance etc. USPS will most likely be cooperating with Norwegian mail; all nice and official and servicing every corner of Norway - even down to the tiniest islands, remote wallies and outposts.......
Of course: with tracking, insurance etc.!!! ;)

For both international and domestic shipping, I use FedEx.  They purchased TNT and are now a very major shipper in Europe and the surrounding countries.  DHL has lost, or damaged, too many shipments.  Granted, you get your money back, but takes DHL forever to accomplish this.  If you want it to get there in excellent condition, use FedEx.  They have an international economy shipping option.

Yeah don't forget the insurance, especially when shipping over seas!

I would love to go to Norway to photograph it.  How about you pay me to hand deliver these to your recipient in Norway!

Hey, it was worth a shot!

DHL is who I've always used for international shipments.
