Camera left in hot sun all day :(

1 year 11 months ago #586622 by Kenya See
My nephew had picked up my camera and set it down on the porch where I didn't notice it all day.  It sat in the hot sun for nearly 8 hours.  The camera is VERY hot.

Could this have messed the camera up?

It's made of metal and plastic. It will absorb heat but not that much. No more so than shooting in southern Arizona or Death Valley. It's likely fine.

Most camera's these days are made to withstand extreme heat/cold to some extent. My guess is that it's probably fine. Hope that's actually the case

Yep worked just fine.  Now I don't know if this is related or not, my camera battery doesn't seem to be holding a strong charge.

I need to find a way to check it.

Thank you all, your kindness and help is very much appreciated.

Is that battery a "third party" unit or Nikon branded?

Why so serious?
